Audit Senior – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Numero Recruitment have been engaged to recruit for a large International Accountancy practice that is keen to strengthen its Audit team within their Birmingham offices. As a result of wining new clients and internal promotions, they are keen to speak with experienced external Audit professionals about progressive roles in the business.

Sectors covered include haulage, manufacturing, entertainment and hospitality with some FCA regulated entities, to name a few. Client sizes vary from small owner managed businesses to large multinational groups.

Role:

Assists in the planning, execution and finalisation of all areas of the audit assignment for manager or partner review, seeking input for areas of concern and judgement; including carrying out briefings and review meetings
Maintaining key client relationships ensuring queries are dealt with and deadlines are met
Identifies risk matters and raises with a manager and/or partner, while exercising judgement and professional scepticism within agreed parameters
Produce work for the Manager and/or Partner review clearly highlighting issues and providing potential solutions to issues identified
Identify and understand client needs, suggest potential solutions on technical matters and communicate and agree client needs and potential solutions with managers
Active engagement with senior client staff in order to gain a good understanding of their business and ensure the efficient execution of the audit
Take primary responsibility for monitoring progress against budget, and when the actual differs from the budget then gain a full understanding for the Manager
Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams, on client premises and in the office, delegating where appropriate
Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
Participate in group, stream and firm wide activities, including business development including cross selling of services and attending networking events
Providing feedback on the work on less experienced staff and contributing to the appraisal process

Requirements:

ACA qualified (or equivalent)
Have at least 3 years of audit experience
All industry sector experiences will be considered but you must have lead audit engagements on clients with annual turnovers of at least £25m.
You must be driven and ambitious as there is the opportunity to progress
